Traditional garages typically require a mason or poured-wall foundation, while post-frame construction allows for options such as post protectors or Perma-Columns for a durable, long-lasting foundation.

Construction time depends on the size of the garage and the crew. For example, a 30' x 40' x 12' garage typically takes 2–3 days with an experienced crew.

Proper site preparation includes a 6-inch layer of compacted #2 stone, followed by 304s for additional stability. For concrete prep, 1–2 inches of material should be compacted again. Remember: the quality of your concrete is only as good as the quality of your site prep.

Yes, post-frame garages are highly customizable. We generally design in 8-foot increments for length and 2-foot increments for width, but we can build to nearly any size and configuration you need.

We typically recommend spray foam insulation because of its efficiency and air-tight seal. Options include closed-cell, open-cell, and fiberglass insulation. For interior finishing, we often use #2 no-warranty metal to complete the inside of the building.

Our garages perform very well in Ohio’s humid continental climate. We usually install ThermaGuard single-bubble insulation on the roof and house wrap on the walls for better air control. For full temperature and humidity control, additional insulation is necessary. With proper insulation, post-frame garages are durable and reliable in all seasons.
